Total Solar Eclipse

8/24/2017

The Futren Hospitality team had a fantastic view of the Total Solar Eclipse that took place on Monday, August 21. A Solar Eclipse takes place when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun and blocks out the sunlight. The Futren employees were extremely excited for this rare and awesome experience that has not occurred in the US since 1979. While Georgia was in the path of totality - or regions that saw a complete eclipse - Futren’s location saw 98% totality. The experience was an unforgettable one for the employees of Futren. Some of our favorite parts of the Total Solar Eclipse experience were the distinct shadows created by the eclipse, the mix of old and new viewing techniques, and definitely the silly viewing glasses.
