Jim Rhoden Named Cobb County Citizen of the Year

Futren Hospitality Founder and Chairman Jim Rhoden was honored with the Cobb County Citizen of the Year Award by the Marietta Daily Journal on Saturday evening during the Cobb Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

The award, presented annually since 1963, recognizes individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to the Cobb County community. Rhoden was recognized for his decades of leadership in business, hospitality, and philanthropy throughout the region.

As founder and principal owner of Futren Hospitality, Rhoden has helped shape the local hospitality landscape through the ownership and management of several private clubs, including Indian Hills Country Club, Woodland Hills Golf Club, and The Orchard Golf & Country Club. Beyond his business accomplishments, he has long been known for his commitment to community service and his guiding philosophy of “paying your civic rent.”

Rhoden is also the founding chairman of the Cobb Community Foundation, which has distributed more than $38 million to local charities since its founding in 1993. Throughout his career, he has served in numerous leadership roles across civic and business organizations while mentoring generations of community leaders.

The honor recognizes Rhoden’s lifelong dedication to strengthening Cobb County through service, leadership, and philanthropy.
