11/10/2017

Futren Hospitality President and CEO, Mitch Rhoden, has been named the 2019 Chairman of the Board of the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.

Mitch has been involved in the Cobb Chamber for 16 years. In that time he has served on Chamber’s Board of Directors since 2004, with roles including Leadership Cobb Co-Chairman, Leadership Cobb Alumni Association Chairman, East Cobb Area Council Chairman and Vice Chairman, and the Cumberland Area Council Director. He has served on the Chamber’s Executive Committee since 2014 as Vice Chairman of Member Development and the 2017 Membership Campaign, Vice Chairman of Marketing and Communications, and Vice Chairman of Member and Community Programs. Last year, he was recognized with the Chamber’s Chairman’s Award. The Chairman’s award is presented to an individual for outstanding leadership, dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to the Cobb Chamber. Rhoden was honored for his role in organizing the grand opening celebration of the Military Family Support Center.

“The Cobb Chamber is excited to work under Mitch’s Rhoden’s leadership in 2019," David Connell, President and CEO of the Cobb Chamber, said in a statement to the Marietta Daily Journal. “Futren Hospitality has been very active in our Chamber for decades, and Mitch has exhibited his commitment to Cobb’s business community through his many leadership roles and volunteer efforts.”

Futren Hospitality has long promoted the importance of giving back to their community. Chairman James L. Rhoden, Jr. coined the phrase "paying your civic rent" to describe the act of repaying the community for what it has given you. In this volunteer role with the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Mitch will represent us in the Cobb and Metro-Atlanta communities and use his time and talents to inspire others along the way. Congratulations, Mitch!
