Summary:

The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent is a highly responsible and professional position who works in the planning and implementation of golf course maintenance in order to keep the course in the best possible playing condition on a year-round basis.

The Assistant’s chief responsibility is in directing, coordinating and supervising the maintenance crew and serving as the delegation and communication link between the superintendent and the crew.  In addition, the Assistant must keep accurate records of weather and relate it to maintenance needs.  The incumbent must function as an active worker on such projects as fertilization, application of chemicals, construction and mechanics as well as take responsibility for purchasing and budgeting as needed.

  • Evaluates course on a daily basis.
  • Prioritizes and schedules, monitors and evaluates work. 
  • Trains new employees.
  • Posts weather records.
  • Posts maintenance practice records.
  • Assures that course is properly maintained.
  • Plans and implements special projects. 
  • Assists in purchasing.
  • Prepares or maintains administrative work.  

It is recommended that the employee two years of golf course maintenance work experience and have a degree in agronomy is preferred however not necessary. This employee is required to possess a valid Georgia driver's license with an acceptable record and personal, reliable transportation. 
 
The flexibility to works evenings, weekends and holidays is essential.

Part-time Cook

Summary:

Cook is responsible for the set-up, clean up, and production of items for food services.  This position calls for dependability, flexibility, and good human relations skills in order to get along with co-workers.  This position calls for independent judgment, discretion, the ability to lead by example, and the capacity to function in a high-pressure environment.

Requirements:  This position requires a minimum formal education of a high school diploma. Candidates must be able to demonstrate reliability and a commitment to learn and execute responsibility.  Good people skills, the ability to communicate effectively with members, guests, and staff, and the desire and ability to learn and work as a part of a service team are required.   

External and Internal Personal Contact:  Embodies the “culture” of the private club industry with a cheerful, task – oriented attitude. Communications Daily - Verbal and Written.

Teamwork and Collaboration:  This job is part of a formal work team within the department.
Appearance- Should demonstrate good grooming based on the standards of the Club.

Summary:

This is an important and responsible position in the planning, implementation, and execution of food service to the members at the Club. This employee performs within well-defined service policies and procedures and is expected to demonstrate thorough and comprehensive dining room service skills within the service procedure framework of the Club ensuring that proper food and beverage service is consistently given to all members and their guests.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that tables, chairs, table settings, etc., conform to the standards set by the Club.
  • Checks tables and settings for proper set up; cleanliness of all silver, china and glassware; fullness and cleanliness of salt and pepper shakers, sugar bowls; alignment of tables, one with the other; checks candles and/or flowers.
  • Provides service to each table including: greeting the member at the door; escorting to table and seating (have members sign checks; take the cocktail and drink order; serve the drinks).
  • Resets rooms.
  • Keeps informed of members and member changes. 
  • Performs other work as required.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  A Server must have thorough and comprehensive knowledge of formal dining room service demonstrated by skills based on past formal dining room work/experience.  The employee in this position should be dependable, mature, and demonstrate good verbal communication skills and people skills in which to inter relate with members.  The employee should be well groomed according to the standards of the Club.
 
Education, Experience, and Training:  It is recommended that this employee have completed high school and some experience in a formal dining establishment.
