Futren Corporation develops and manages country clubs and business
dining clubs in the metro-Atlanta area. Through its wholly owned subsidiary,
Club Services, Inc., Futren also offers video-based club service training and
experienced consultation in the development and operation of all types of
private clubs. Founded in 1971, Futren Corporation was primarily a real estate
development firm, with residential apartments and housing developments in the
Southeast United States.
In 1978, the direction of the company changed from real estate, to clubs, with
the purchase of Indian Hills Country Club, a 27-hole golf and tennis club in
East Cobb County, Marietta, Georgia.
In 1983, The Georgian Club, a private fine dining city club, opened atop the
Galleria 100 Building in The Galleria, in northwest Atlanta.
Established in 1984, The Ashford Club, another fine dining city club, was
recently relocated to the Glenridge Highlands Two building, at the easily
accessible intersection of GA 400 and Glenridge Connector in north Atlanta.
Other projects that Futren has been proud to be a part of are Brookstone Golf
& Country Club, World Trade Center Atlanta, and The 1818 Club in Gwinnett County,
Georgia. Futren developed and opened Brookstone Golf & Country Club in 1988, and
sold it in late 1990. In 1994 Futren developed the new home for the World Trade
Center Atlanta in Sun Trust Plaza in downtown Atlanta. Futren initiated development
of The 1818 Club in 1999, defining its concept and organizing the initial Board of
Directors prior to turning it over to the board with approximately 450 members in
March, 2000.
Futren Corporation maintains a reputation for excellence through its people,
planning, professional implementation, management, and attention to detail. It
has never been Futren's goal to be the largest of club developers; only the best. |
